From the past year to, there will be many lessons learned and changes in the beauty industry.
Inspired by the ’90s, brown lipsticks
One trend that is gaining popularity in our generation is brown lipstick. The millennials are reverting to the 1990s when it comes to makeup. Celebrities, from Shay Mitchel to Ariana Grande, are adopting the retro look. Brown lipsticks are versatile in how they can be matched with other makeup looks.
Red hot shadow
The millennials favor richer, classic colors, but red-hued shadow makeup is taking an unexpected lead. This trend is gaining popularity with millennials. Apply a red shadow from the crease to your eyes, then add eyeliner for a complete look. Make your eyes stand out by applying white kohl to your lower lashline.
Minimalist skin care
Sometimes less is more when it comes to skincare. Multi-step beauty regimens and cakey makeup are no longer an option. Many of us want to achieve the flawless glow we desire.
Bright blue eyes will be the hottest trend in 2021. Apply a primer to your eyelids and eye area, then fill in your brows using your favorite brow pencil. Use a brow gel for filling in your brows. A small brush can be used to lightly draw with a bold color. Set the cream color with an eye shadow color to ensure it doesn’t move. Finally, curl your lashes, and then apply mascara to give them volume.
New faces are on the horizon
People of all ages purchased skincare as the most common beauty product category during the pandemic. Hair care was next. Eye makeup was second in popularity among Gen Z. Older generations prefer fragrance and bodywash to keep things smelling good.
Younger generations were more concerned about natural, non-toxic ingredients when looking for beauty products. Generation Z and millennials were more likely to buy cruelty-free and vegan products than their elders.
Bare luminous skin
The matte finish is still popular but it’s time for a glowy look. Flashbulb skin, glass skin and dumpling skin are the newest must-have beauty looks. Beauty is changing.
